We have finished work on the final version of Shredder's Delight, a guitar solo by guitarist Terry Cooksey. The first version was released in early 2006 and has been the most popular track by The LIGHT. Shredder's Delight was played on Z95 The Bone during one of their Bone inthe Backyard shows during September. It has been processed and Mastered for the new CD, Hard Rock Nation. Give it a listen. Well, it's NOT really new. It just hasn't been seen over the internet yet, til now. We have posted a 30 minute video of The LIGHT playing at The Music Complex on Southwest drive in April 1992. We shot the footage just to have it. Then when we got our second Amiga computer and a Video Toaster later that year and turned the footage into a special effects video concert. We aired it on Jonesboro's local cable system 15 or 20 times. It was the first video by a local band in this area to be aired on cable tv.
We posted it here as a fact of history. We have been a band with the same 3 members since 1987. So we have some videos and other stuff from way back then, many years before ANY of the local bands of today even starting playing. Of course, our quality of camera footage has improved greatly since then. But we know our Amiga and Video Toaster gave us technology that was years ahead of it's time. And we are proud to not only have been a part of, but having been on the leading edge THE modern day video revolution that took place in the 1990's.

For the past 4 years The LIGHT has been helping others in order to build a LOCAL music scene. But the bands would NOT work with us or for a LOCAL music scene. As a result, the Jonesboro Music scene is all but dead. So we are about back to the way it was all during the 90's.....with The LIGHT being the only ROCK band in the Jonesboro area. We ended our efforts in August 2006.
Since then, we have been dealing with some personal problems that everyone has to deal with some time in their lives. We are currently working on some decisions about our future in light of there no longer being any LOCAL music scene. The most discussed solution is to leave Jonesboro and go where there is already a music scene.
We will soon finish recording and Mastering of the CD titled "Hard Rock Nation". We are not satisfied with 3 of the recordings. This is a time of major changes for all 3 members of The LIGHT. So we can't really say how things will be in the future. As soon as the consequences of the currently ongoing changes show themselves clearly, we will post that information.
Thanks to those of you who have enjoyed our music over the past 3 decades, and to those who have supported us in our belief that a band should be about THE MUSIC. WE do NOT play music to TRY and become somebody important. We play music because it's something we love to do. IF only some others in the Jonesboro area would gain this attitude, the Jonesboro MUSIC scene would come alive and last from now on. We have always done our part. But one band does not make a music scene. And we doubt any bands will become interested in doing their part before we leave Jonesboro. But wherever we move to..........we will retain our internet presence. ....The LIGHT wants to point out that the videos we posted on this site are OLD VIDEOS. They are NOT any example of what videos SHOULD be today. We just have alot of old stuff that we never did anything with and wanted to share these glimpses into our past; which most of our fans DO appreciate. We set the standards early last decade about technology, but no one even attempted to use technology til the past few years. We were all by ourself in technology from 1989 til 1999.
To this day no other band in this area has done any video at all. So, I'm sure THEY will be upset as they SEE the NEW standards we are,and have been setting recently too. But we have offered to help any band with the technologies that CAN make Jonesboro a great music town AGAIN !
.....WE are currently recording some new songs. But, out of the 8 songs we had rehearsed are now on hold. Why ? Because we created several new songs over the past few weeks and feel really great about them. We WILL get those other 6 of 8 songs recorded as we decide to. Rock All Day and the finished version or PEACE will be released during January. ANd we hope to play at Jonesboogie HQ during February.
